Ballot Question 1:
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of Whitefish Bay, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin that there shall be issued pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $9,000,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of maintaining, renovating and improving all school facilities including upgrading safety and security systems and structures, heating and ventilation systems, utilities, and handicap accessibility.
Ballot Question 2:
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the School District of Whitefish Bay, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin that there shall be issued pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $13,600,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of constructing and equipping additions to the high school and elementary schools; and remodeling, acquiring related equipment, and improving the technology infrastructure at all sites.
Voting "yes" on Question 1 is for approval of the insfrastructure and maintenance plan known as the "Stewardship Option." A "yes" vote here does not result in any tax increase.
Voting "yes" on Question 2 approves spending for additions to the High School and two elementary schools as well as renovation of spaces to be converted to new uses, which would result in a mill rate increase of $0.71. This is known as the "Educational Improvement Option."
Each plan stands alone on the ballot. Voting "yes" on Question 2 approves only the school additions and renovations and does not include any of the infrastructure and maintenance work proposed in Question 1. If you are to approve all of the vital work needed - and we encourage you to do so - you must vote yes on both questions. Every vote counts.
