Key Facts
Safety and Security is renovation of all school main entrances (except Lydell) to screen visitors, a new corridor at the high school to connect the Field House with the main building and replacement or upgrade of fire alarm systems to meet current codes at all facilities.
Toilet Room Upgrades will make facilities compliant with disabilities act requirements, reduce water use and improve appearance.
Electrical Upgrades include additional outlets in classrooms, a new clock system and additional motion sensors at the Middle School and replacement of some interior and exterior lighting on all buildings to improve operational efficiencies.
Building Exterior is maintenance work, including roof repairs and tuckpointing of critical areas only.
HVAC Upgrades (Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning) include repair and replacement of worn equipment and controls to improve operational efficiency.
Existing Cafeterias at both elementary schools would be converted into two additional classrooms. New cafeteria/ multi-purpose rooms would allow for more community meetings and activities.
Other Costs include architectural and engineering fees, permits, contingencies and an allowance for the abatement of asbestos.
